The future is toothy: BMW Concept 4 shows off company's future sedan design
First there were the comparisons between the front of the 2019 BMW X7 and Bette Midler's character from "Hocus Pocus." BMW isn't backing down. They've taken their new design language even further with the BMW Concept 4, a blunt and toothy take on the future of the sedan.
"The BMW Concept 4 embodies the aesthetic essence of the BMW brand. It combines perfect proportions with a clear and precise design," says Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.
At its front is the company's kidney grille, which sits abruptly on the front of an extended hood with creases that give the concept the character of a Lexus or Infiniti model. The car's Forbidden Red paint job gives the car sporty character.
BMW's presentation of the model emphasized the car's athleticism, something that the German automaker is known for. The design further emphasizes the car's strength by adding a muscular back end and sleek lines that showcase the vehicle's length.
The most attractive parts of the car are in the details. Its aerodynamic side mirrors look ready to slice through the air while the taillights are an intriguing squiggle that emphasize the car's thicc-ness.
The BMW Concept 4 is just that, a concept car, but it does allude to the design we can expect coming down the line. The concept is expected to come to life as the redesigned BMW 4 Series and the forthcoming all-electric BMW i4.
