Select McLaren customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will be able to order their new McLaren 620R with a new performance package that intensifies the drive experience of the supercar. The package includes design and engineering upgrades of the Sports Series model.
The McLaren 620R equally designed for road and track. It's a competition level specification of the McLaren 570S GT4 and road legal. Powering the model is a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine that achieves 610 brake horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. I can get from zero to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and to 124 mph in 8.1 seconds. Aerodynamic, hardware and chassis components are shared with the 570S GT4.
The MSO R Pack was put together by McLaren Special Operations and includes a gloss finished visual carbon fiber roof scoop, titanium SuperSports exhaust with gloss nano black finishers, gloss finish visual carbon fiber front fender louvres, and a carbon fiber interior pack.
The roof scope was inspired by the McLaren nF1 Longtail and operates as a fully functional air intake system. In doing so, it adds active air induction sound to the drive experience. Buyers can add an available camera system to the scoop that works in conjunction with the McLaren Track Telemetry system to record track sessions.
A booming sound comes from the MSO Defined Titanium SuperSports Exhaust, which is up to five decibels louder than other Sports Series exhaust options and delivers a sharper exhaust note.
The front louvres give visual enhancement while the interior pack makes the interior of the car even more track-focused.
The MSO R Pack is £25,000 for UK buyers, which is a significantly less that the cost of options when purchased individually.
Just 225 versions of the 620R will be produced globally.
