New, top-tier 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition has 575 horsepower

The 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition is the pinnacle of the Range Rover Sport lineup for the new model year. The SUV blends familiar details with stunning horsepower to up the ante for buyers.

The Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition is part of the Special Vehicle Operations family of vehicles. It's a growing part of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) operation, with over 9,500 high-performance and luxury SV products retailed in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, up 64 percent from the previous year. JLR's best-selling SV SUV last year was the 575-horsepower Range Rover Sport SVR, which saw sales growth in its fifth year of production.

This take on that best-seller delivers more aggressive looks thanks to an expensive infusion of carbon fiber on the body of the vehicle. There's an exposed carbon fiber hood center section, front bumper insert surrounds, main grille and vent surrounds, as well as a range of other carbon fiber exterior design details, carbon fiber interior trim finishers, a carbon fiber engine cover and 22-inch Gloss Black forged alloy wheels.

The model is powered by a 575-horsepower 5.0-liter SVR V8 engine. The beating heart gives the car a maximums speed of 176 mph, the ability to get form zero to 60 mph in 4.3 second, and 516 pound-feet of torque. It gets 15 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway, and 16 mpg combined.

Despite it's fancy looks, the all-wheel drive Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition is just as capable off-road as its familial counterparts. It comes with a bevy of drive modes that improve vehicle dynamics depending on driving conditions as well as an air suspension at all four corners to help keep the riders comfortable and provides the ability to keep a low profile.

Land Rover is pricing the model at $130,000 plus a $1,350 destination fee.

Today, Subaru announced pricing for the 2023 Crosstrek and Crosstrek Hybrid. The duo will go on sale this summer.

The standard Crosstrek starts at $23,645 before destination and the Crosstrek Hybrid starts at $36,845. Five trims are available for the standard model, including Base, Premium, a new Special Edition, Sport, and Limited. The Hybrid comes in a single trim level. All Crosstrek variants get all-wheel drive with active torque vectoring and 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

The Base, Premium, and Special Edition trims come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 152 horsepower. The Sport and Limited trims get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 182 horsepower. Most models come with a continuously variable transmission, but the Base and Premium trims come standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. The Crosstrek Hybrid comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with two electric motors. The plug-in system can deliver 17 miles of electric range.

True to Subaru form, the Crosstrek comes with a full suite of advanced driver aids, including automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure alerts, adaptive cruise, and more. These features are only available for CVT-equipped models. The Limited trim and the Crosstrek Hybrid add automatic high beams, reverse automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alerts.

Honda details all-new 2023 HR-V

The HR-V is Honda's smallest and most affordable SUV, slotting into the automaker's catalog beneath the long-running CR-V. The entry-level HR-V got a complete overhaul for 2023 that brought a new powertrain, updated technology, and refined styling that aligns closely with the new Civic Sedan.

Honda offers the HR-V in three trims: LX, Sport, and EX-L. While the 2022 HR-V got a 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the 2023 model gets a larger 2.0-liter engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. It's mated to a continuously variable transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive. The new SUV comes with hill descent control for the first time in a Honda, and three drive modes are included.

Inside, a 7-inch touchscreen comes standard that runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A larger 9-inch screen comes in the top EX-L trim that adds wireless smartphone connectivity. The EX-L trims also gets wireless charging and navigation. Both touchscreens come with a physical volume knob for easier interactions with the system. All models are wider and longer than before, which improves interior passenger and cargo space.

All 2023 HR-Vs come with Honda Sensing safety equipment. The package has been updated for 2023 with a traffic jam assist feature and traffic sign recognition. Honda offers blind spot monitoring for the first time in an HR-V, and a driver attention monitoring system comes standard.

The new HR-V starts at $24,895, including a $1,245 destination charge. The range-topping EX-L all-wheel drive model starts at $30,195. Honda says the new SUV will go on sale soon.
