Exclusive Lamborghini lounge opens its doors in New York City

The Lamborghini Lounge NYC opens this spring in Chelsea, Manhattan.

The world of Lamborghini is available by appointment only. Tucked beneath the High Line in the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City, an exclusive lounge has opened its doors. The 5,400-square-foot Lamborghini Lounge is the automaker's new NYC flagship location.

The space is designed to be reminiscent of Lamborghini's facilities in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. Lamborghini Lounge NYC offers guests exclusive access to never-before-seen vehicles, Italian culinary experience and bespoke exhibitions. The space can also be utilized for private meetings and events. Attendance is always invite-only.

"We are opening the doors to a private space our customers and friends can call their own with exclusive access," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. "Following the success of our Lamborghini Lounge venues across the globe, this new flagship in Manhattan will create a vibrant and personal connection to share the Lamborghini lifestyle; a true reflection of our fine Italian heritage. I look forward to visiting our Lamborghini customers and friends in New York soon."

The two-story gallery-style venue features private spaces as well as an Ad Personam design studio, meeting spaces, and a full-service kitchen.The design of the kitchen and finishes are by Italian luxury kitchen manufacturer La Dolce Vita. Sound for the lounge is filtered through a Bang & Olufsen audio system. Trademark Italian furnishings from Living Divani garnish each room.

"This unique space will serve as Lamborghini's outpost in one of the world's greatest cities," said Federico Foschini, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. "The Ad Personam studio provides an extension and personal touchpoint, which could previously only be found at our home in Sant'Agata, and we look forward to offering this and access to never-before-seen limited-edition models to VIP visitors of the Lounge NYC."

Currently, a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Omologata (STO) makes its home in the space. A similarly named watch, Roger Dubuis's newest timepiece – Excalibur Huracán STO – is featured in the space's Gravity Window. Only 88 units of the watch will be produced and sold.

Multiple brand partners will be activated throughout the space in the coming month, exclusive to Lounge guests.

Lamborghini is accelerating its path toward an all-electric future.

Lamborghini plans to electrify its lineup and now we know how fast that process will be going and what the company won't be focusing on. In a presentation, Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, detailed that the super luxury automaker will "focus continually on identifying technologies and solutions that guarantee top performance and driving dynamics" rather than fuel economy. Those words are magic to enthusiasts ears.

"Lamborghini's electrification plan is a newly-plotted course, necessary in the context of a radically-changing world, where we want to make our contribution by continuing to reduce environmental impact through concrete projects," said Winkelmann. "Our response is a plan with a 360 degree approach, encompassing our products and our Sant'Agata Bolognese location, taking us towards a more sustainable future while always remaining faithful to our DNA."

The three-phase approach to electrification starts this year. From 2021 to 2022, Lamborghini will focus on "presenting models paying tribute to the company's recent period of continuous success". Expect two new cars in the V12 model line-up to be announced this year.

By the end of 2024, the hybrid transition for the automaker will be well underway. In 2023 Lamborghini will launch its first hybrid series production car and by the end of 2024, the entire range will be electrified. The company's internal target for this phase is to reduce product carbon dioxide emissions by 50 percent by the beginning of 2025.

In this second phase, Lamborghini is committed to keeping the drive experience in focus as well as the application of carbon fiber materials, which the company sees as crucial in developing their new product lineup.

Lamborghini is committing to bringing the company's first fully-electric car to the market in the second half of the 2020s with a number of electric vehicles on the horizon. The automaker expects to introduce a fourth model.

The automaker has initiated an investment of 1.5 billion euros to create the pathway to electrification. The money will be spent over four years time.

The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is a track-only car IRL but it can hit the streets in "Asphalt 9: Legends".

Want to race the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 off the track? You're in luck. The Italian automaker will debut the model in "Asphalt 9: Legends", an arcade racing game that is played via iPhone, iPad, Android, or Windows 10 device. The Asphalt racing franchise is quite popular across the globe. It recently crossed the 1 billion download mark.

Gameloft, the game's parent company, says in a release that it chose the Lamborghini because of its "uniqueness, its sleek and futuristic design combined with advanced aerodynamics, and its engine". The power plant in the traditionally track-only car is the most powerful V12 naturally aspirated engine ever developed by Automobili Lamborghini, capable of generating more than 830 horsepower.

The Essenza SCV12 was developed by Squadra Corse and designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile. It made its debut in 2020. Limited to just 40 examples, buying the Essenza SCV12 isn't just a sign here ownership experience. Essenza SCV12 customers are part of an exclusive club that gives them access to special programs to drive their hypercar on all the most prestigious circuits in the world, for a unique and special experience.

"There is a digital version of all the GT championships that Lamborghini competes in, giving real drivers and fans the chance to have fun but also to gain experience through simulations on virtual circuits," said Giorgio Sanna, Head of Automobili Lamborghini Motorsport. "Gaming certainly has a more playful and less realistic approach, but it's an important tool for introducing our cars to the general public and the younger generation. For this reason, we are very pleased that the Essenza SCV12 has been chosen by 'Asphalt 9: Legends', allowing players to experience the thrill of getting behind the wheel of our track-only hypercar".

From May 13, gamers from all around the world will be able to select the SCV12 from the eight available colors and compete in the first "Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 Challenge", the mobile e-Sport competition which will be held in one round of three open qualifying sessions: the first from May 13 to 16, the second from June 10 to 13, and the third from July 1 to 4. The top 100 will take part in closed qualifying sessions to be held from August 5 to 8: the best eight will battle it out in the final on September 18.

This isn't Lamborghini's first foray into the esports world. The V12 Vision GT made its debut in Grand Turismo SportV12 Vision GT made its debut in Grand Turismo Sport in the summer of 2020.
