The next iteration of Hyundai styling and technology has arrived, looking a lot like a blast from the last. While modern vehicles often get nagged for being similar to each other, but the Prophecy is a bit retro in its design with a face reminiscent of a Mazda RX-7 and a rear like a Porsche from the Reagan administration.

What's underneath is entirely modern, however.

The concept car features an extended wheelbase and short overhangs, signatures of its electric vehicle (EV) platform. Hyundai emphasizes the car's volume as well as the harmony of aesthetics and functionality with the new model.

Hyundai says that the surfaces of the model are "clean and simple" with streamlined design inside and out.

The car's exterior features pixelated progressive lighting technology integrated into the headlamp, tail lamp, and spoiler. These are elements that are similar to what was presented in the Hyundai 45 concept.

The Prophecy is driven by using a joystick steering system.

Hyundai Motor Group is expanding its product line-up to include 44 electrified vehicles, and Hyundai Motor Company alone plans to invest almost 50 billion Euros for research and development into future technologies by 2025. The expectation is to sell more than 670,000 battery and fuel cell electric vehicles annually by this time, and to be positioned among the top three EV providers globally.
