New Genesis Concierge national 'white glove' program delivers personalized experience

Genesis is dong even more to solidify itself as a real luxury brand in the U.S. The luxury arm of Korean automaker Hyundai has launched Genesis Concierge, a white glove program for its customers.

"A true luxury experience should exceed a customer's unique desires and expectations," said Mark Del Rosso, President and CEO, Genesis Motor North America. "Genesis Concierge is a tailored service that delivers a new level of personalized luxury, because we are committed to delivering an experience that satisfies our customers on their terms, not ours. As with our popular Service Valet owner amenity, utilized by 90 percent of Genesis owners, Genesis Concierge shows we have great respect for our customers' ultimate luxury – their time"

As part of the program, customers receive their own person concierge to act as a host and guide throughout the shopping and buying process of a new Genesis. This goes beyond the traditional salesperson role starts with the initial welcome and extends through available at-home test drivers and delivery at the location of the purchasers' choice.

After a customer signals interest in a Genesis vehicle via an online request, a concierge will reach out by phone call, text, or e-mail, depending on the guest's preference. Genesis describes the rest of the process:

"From there, the assistant acts as a shopping guide, answering questions about brand models and packages; explaining the complimentary suite of services offered; and directly interfacing with the retailer. The retailer remains integral — the program is designed to enhance the customer/retailer relationship. However, the concierge will continue to serve as the primary contact for customer questions or concerns, and the assistant will follow up even after the vehicle is delivered."

This year is poised to be an important coming of age for the brand. In addition to the concierge service, Genesis is launching a new SUV, the GV80, and two redesigned sedans, the G80 and G90.

The G70 got a makeover for 2022.

The Genesis G70 got a refresh for 2022, which brought an updated interior with new tech, along with a massaged front- and rear-end. I'm spending a week testing the renewed sports sedan, and have some initial thoughts after two days with the new model. I drove the 2021 G70 and felt that it was a cohesive package with few major downfalls. The 2022 model's improvements have made me like it even more. A full review will be out next week, but in the meantime, here are three things to know about the 2022 Genesis G70.

It's Plush

Close your eyes and step into a G70 and you'll be hard pressed to believe you're sitting in anything other than a European luxury sedan. The cabin is gorgeous, and features high-end materials, great visibility, and intuitive technology. The front seats are sporty but supportive and comfortable, and high trim levels features super diamond stitched leathers and very few low-rent materials inside.

It's Quick

I'm testing the Sport Prestige 3.3T model, which his powered by a – you guessed it – twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine. With 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque on tap, the car will boogie. Its 0-60 mph time lands a at a modest 4.7 seconds, but Genesis did a good job of building in enough drama to make things interesting. The car's sonorous exhaust, rush of power off the line, and responsive transmission all work together to create a special experience. Even G70s equipped with the lesser turbocharged 2.0-liter engine still feel quick, thanks to 252 horsepower.

I tested a Genesis GV80 a few months ago, and found that it was the first car I'd driven around town that caused people to stop and take photos. Now, with the G70, I have my second. Despite a few awkward lines, created when Genesis added the split headlight and taillight look to the car, it's otherwise one of the sleekest and most eye-catching sedans around. Deeply sculpted sides and the large-but-not-too-large diamond grille also add to the look.

The 2022 Acura TLX has the technology enabled.

Toyota and Lexus announced that the WarnerMedia RIDE app would be coming to their models earlier this year. Now, Honda and Acura will be offering the same.

On certain Wi-Fi enabled Honda and Acura vehicles, AT&T unlimited in-car Wi-Fi users will have access to the WarnerMedia RIDE app. The app allows users to connect multiple devices in their vehicles to browse, stream and share premium content from the WarnerMedia library while on the road.

Honda and Acura vehicle owners have been able to use their on-board modem as a hot spot for connecting up to seven devices since 2017. Models compatible for the new tech include the Acura RDX (2019-present), Acura TLX (2021), and Acura MDX (2022) across all trim levels. Honda vehicles with the tech include Accord (2018-present, Touring), Odyssey (2018-present; Touring, Elite), Insight (2019-present, Touring)., Passport (2019-present; Touring, Elite)., and Pilot (2019-present; Touring, Elite, Black Edition).

The WarnerMedia RIDE App allows passengers to access 1,000+ hours of live and on-demand entertainment. The app includes hit TV shows and movies from top brands such as Cartoon Network, CNN, HBO Max, TBS, TNT and TruTV, spanning animation, entertainment, news, sports and more.

Users can set up profiles and personalize their user exerpience with an avatar from the WarnerMedia library. Profiles also ensure age-appropriate content with options for adults to restrict access to their profiles with an access code.
