Chevrolet hosting week-long virtual fan experience August 10-16

A new Chevrolet festival will feature the history of the Chevy brand.

With car shows and street cruising cancelled this summer, Chevrolet is spending a week celebrating all the culture of everything autos this week during a week-long virtual festival - Cruisin' the USA in your Chevrolet.

"Classic car events have served as a place for us to honor Chevrolet's deep automotive history and its influence on our present and future with car enthusiasts from around the world," said Steve Majoros, vice president of marketing, Chevrolet. "Cruisin' the USA in your Chevrolet is a way for us to keep that spirit alive."

Each day of the August 10-16 festival will incorporate a different theme. In addition to historic footage, guest appearances, and trivia, Chevy experts will provide in-depth looks at some of the brand's most iconic vehicles that are now housed at the General Motors Heritage Center. They'll even share their own custom Chevy builds.

The week starts by celebrating the origins of Chevrolet, in 1911 when Louis Chevrolet and Billy Durant formed the company. The rest of the week's schedule of events includes daily themes:

  • August 10: The Origins and Innovations of Chevrolet
  • August 11: Chevy's Most Iconic Designs
  • August 12: The Proud Truck Tradition
  • August 13: The Peak of Performance
  • August 14: Team Chevy – A Culture of Winning
  • August 15: Chevy's Heritage – A Fan Celebration
  • August 16: Race Day – Cheering on Team Chevy at NASCAR Cup Series at Daytona and Indy 500 qualifying races.

Children can join in on the fun by downloading specially-designed coloring pages, puzzles and activities from the Chevy Design School and exploring cool Chevy themes to outfit their Animal Crossing world.

To gear up for the event, fans can download a collectable 18x24-inch high-resolution printable poster featuring a 1967 C10 CST pickup, 1957 Corvette convertible, 2020 Corvette C8.R and 2020 Camaro ZL1.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 gets reveal date

Chevy draws a line from the Z06 directly to its racing program.

The new Chevrolet Corvettewas a revelation when it was finally announced. The car brought a mid-engine design to the Corvette line for the first time, and put decades of speculation over the shift to bed. We've all known that Chevrolet would eventually release an even higher performance Z06 version of the car, but now we know the date. The automaker just announced that the car will be revealed on October 26.

To build hype for the car's announcement, Chevy released a short teaser video of the Z06 tearing around the Nurburgring. It's clear from the film that the car we'll see in October will be a different beast from its standard predecessor, which mainly comes down to a big change in its powertrain.

The new Z06 is expected to feature a flat-plane crank V8 that will allow it to rev to 8500 or 9000 RPM. The car should see in excess of 600 horsepower from its howling V8, which will be sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.



As it has done with other Z06 models, Chevy will bolster the Corvette's suspension and brakes to accommodate higher speeds and the jump in power. The car will be able to carry more speed into corners and stop in a shorter distance than its standard counterpart, which will improve its lap times at the track. Various active and fixed aerodynamics components are also expected.

The C8 Corvette's interior is anything but boring, and the Z06 will carry on with that tradition. We'll still see the long center strip of buttons and controls, along with a digital gauge cluster and nicely upholstered sport seats. The Z06 will most likely get more in the way of carbon fiber and race-inspired trim pieces, but the layout won't deviate from the standard car to a great degree.

The 2022 Acura TLX has the technology enabled.

Toyota and Lexus announced that the WarnerMedia RIDE app would be coming to their models earlier this year. Now, Honda and Acura will be offering the same.

On certain Wi-Fi enabled Honda and Acura vehicles, AT&T unlimited in-car Wi-Fi users will have access to the WarnerMedia RIDE app. The app allows users to connect multiple devices in their vehicles to browse, stream and share premium content from the WarnerMedia library while on the road.

Honda and Acura vehicle owners have been able to use their on-board modem as a hot spot for connecting up to seven devices since 2017. Models compatible for the new tech include the Acura RDX (2019-present), Acura TLX (2021), and Acura MDX (2022) across all trim levels. Honda vehicles with the tech include Accord (2018-present, Touring), Odyssey (2018-present; Touring, Elite), Insight (2019-present, Touring)., Passport (2019-present; Touring, Elite)., and Pilot (2019-present; Touring, Elite, Black Edition).

The WarnerMedia RIDE App allows passengers to access 1,000+ hours of live and on-demand entertainment. The app includes hit TV shows and movies from top brands such as Cartoon Network, CNN, HBO Max, TBS, TNT and TruTV, spanning animation, entertainment, news, sports and more.

Users can set up profiles and personalize their user exerpience with an avatar from the WarnerMedia library. Profiles also ensure age-appropriate content with options for adults to restrict access to their profiles with an access code.
