Barrett-Jackson has already announced that they will auction off the first Ford Bronco 2-Door and Mustang Mach 1 during their Scottsdale, Arizona auction in March. Now, it has been confirmed that two other hot commodities, VIN 001 of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and CT4-V Blackwing, will also cross the block during the event.

One-hundred percent of the hammer price from both first-production performance sedans will benefit Black Ambition, a PolicyLink non-profit initiative launched by Pharrell Williams that is described in a release by Barrett-Jackson as providing "a bridge to success for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs who are launching tech, design, healthcare and consumer products/services start-ups".

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (Lot #3002) and CT4-V Blackwing (Lot #3001) were introduced earlier this year. They represent the pinnacle of performance for the Cadillac brand and will be made in limited edition quantities with a premium price tag.

The first CT5-V Blackwing off the line features a twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 under the hood. It reaches 668 horsepower and has a zero to 60 mph time of 3.6 seconds. Cadillac has given this model a six-speed manual transmission - the last planned manual transmission for General Motors.

Its little brother, the CT4-V Blackwing, has a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 that is capable of producing 472 horsepower and getting from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

"The Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwings have seen tremendous attention since their introduction just days ago," said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.

"These modern luxury performance sedans combine Cadillac's most powerful engines ever built with a spectacular suspension to set a new standard for comfort and performance. As the last in a line of Cadillacs with a factory 6-speed manual transmission, these two first-production vehicles are destined to be coveted collector cars for generations to come. It is an honor that GM chose to auction these performance sedans as part of the largest docket of VIN 001 and first production vehicles ever offered during one auction."

The Wildcat is a new electric concept from Buick.

Buick

Buick, the automaker whose lineup consists entirely of middle-of-the-road SUVs, has just come out with something unexpected. Today, the storied American automaker announced a new EV concept that revives a historic name from its catalog. The Wildcat was introduced in the early 1950s and has just returned on a sharp, futuristic EV.

The concept’s interior features a classic 2+2 seating configuration, with two front and two rear seats. An extended center console stretches through both rows of seating, and the cockpit-style seats feature cantilevered headrests. Buick says it focused heavily on color and the level of comfort it conveys. Green accents highlight many parts of the interior, and orange contrasts can be found throughout, including on the seatbelts.

The Wildcat features a large curved display that integrates the gauge cluster and infotainment unit into one panel. The air vents and all physical controls are hidden in an interesting and elaborate dash, and Buick says the car is designed to be a platform for future technologies like artificial intelligence, biometrics, and aromatherapy.

Buick will become an all-electric brand in the future, and though the Wildcat is just a concept, we’re likely to see many of its features make their way into production models. We don’t have any details on whether or not a version of the car will make it into production, though if it does, it’s unlikely to wear the Wildcat name, as of the automaker’s other models feature sedate names.

Cadillac gives every Escalade-V air ride adaptive suspension and magnetic ride control. The driver can customize the suspension and feel using the SUV's selectable driving modes. Inside, the Escalade-V builds on the top trim of the standard SUV with zebra wood accents, massaging front seats, and a heated steering wheel. It's got the same amazing tech, too, with a curved OLED display that runs the length of the dash, navigation, voice commands, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, an augmented reality navigation system, and a 36-speaker AKG Studio stereo.
