AMG plus GLC equals a new, high-power version of the Mercedes GLC-Class SUV. The mid-size model gets a new AMG version for the 2022 model year bringing a robust V8 and honed drive dynamics to the popular family hauler.

The 2022 Mercedes- AMG GLC 63 S is fitted with a handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that achieves 503 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This is the same engine that can be found in the GLC Coupe's AMG variant. It's been added to the traditional SUV-shaped model to meet demand from customers. The engine, paired with an nine-speed automatic transmission, can get the car from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

These are upgraded numbers compared to the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63, which gets 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. That model is two-tenths of a second slower off the line. The electronically limited top speed of the GLC 63 is 155 mph compared to the GLC 63 S's 174 mph.

Mercedes has given the SUV a long list of standard features that enhance its drive dynamics: drive modes, an air suspension with adaptive damping adjustment, an electronic locking differential, dynamic engine mounts, and a performance exhaust system.. The SUV's steering wheel has Touch Control buttons.

The SUV rides on 20-inch AMG design wheels, has LED high-performance headlights and taillights, and comes standard with the Multimedia Package, which includes augmented video for navigation. In front of the driver is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

Buyers can add the AMG Aerodynamics Package, Exterior Carbon Fiber Package, AMG Performance Seats, AMG Night Package, AMG Performance Studio Package with extended additional high-gloss black elements, and a selection of leather upholsteries and interior trim options including AMG Carbon Fiber.

U.S. deliveries of the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S SUV begin in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Cadillac gives every Escalade-V air ride adaptive suspension and magnetic ride control. The driver can customize the suspension and feel using the SUV's selectable driving modes. The system can also raise or lower the ride height by to .8 inches, and the SUV comes with a launch control system that helps it get off the line with explosive speed.

Inside, the Escalade-V builds on the top trim of the standard SUV with zebra wood accents, massaging front seats, and a heated steering wheel. It's got the same amazing tech, too, with a curved OLED display that runs the length of the dash, navigation, voice commands, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, an augmented reality navigation system, and a 36-speaker AKG Studio stereo. Cadillac Super Cruise is available.

2023 Mercedes-AMG C 43 on the way with F1 tech

The new C 43 gets engine tech straight from Formula 1.

Mercedes-AMG

It's about time we started considering Mercedes-AMG's 43-level cars in some of the same conversations that include the 53- and 63-level monsters. Today, Mercedes-AMG announced the 2023 C 43 Sedan. But even though it's the "entry-level" C-Class performance car, AMG gave it some serious upgrades, including standard rear-wheel steering, a mild-hybrid system, and plenty of power.

The new turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 402 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque - up from last year's 385 ponies. It's paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and rear-biased all-wheel drive. Mercedes says the powertrain is strong enough to propel the C43 to 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds.

The four-cylinder is the first production engine with an electric exhaust-gas turbocharger. The tech came directly from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team, who won the 2021 Constructor's Championship. Where traditional turbochargers have to build boost over a short period of time, an electric motor spins the turbo to start before allowing the exhaust gases to take over. The system is driven by the car's 48-volt mild-hybrid system and should reduce turbo lag and improve responsiveness.

Five driving modes are available, including Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport +, and Individual. The drive modes alter throttle and steering response, transmission shift points, exhaust sound, and settings for the adaptive dampers. Shockingly, the car comes standard with rear-wheel steering with an angle of up to 2.5 degrees. The system works at speeds of up to 37 mph, and can drastically reduce the C 43's turning radius while improving turn-in and handling.
