The Price is Right
2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA will start at $36,230 when it arrives at dealerships this summer
Mercedes is giving the redesigned GLA a $2,000 price bump. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA features fresh design inside and out, along with the latest infotainment system the company offers.
The GLA is the smallest SUV in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. It competes directly against the Audi Q3 and BMW X1. It slots below the new GLB in the lineup.
Mercedes-AMG has developed a performance-focused version of the GLA, the GLA 45. More information on that model can be found here.
The 2021 GLA is taller and wider than its predecessor as well as having a longer wheelbase. Those fresh dimensions give the model more front headroom, rear legroom, and cargo space than the previous model.
The GLA will be sold in GLA 250 and GLA 250 4MATIC variants. 4MATIC is the Mercedes name for all-wheel drive. Both models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, a 13-horsepower improvement over the 2020 model. The engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Mercedes has given the GLA a roster of desirable standard equipment including LED headlamps and taillamps, 18-inch wheels, a 7.0-inch driver information display, and 7.0-inch infotainment touch screen.
The model has the new Mercedes MBUX infotainment interface with smartphone integration. It features a customizable display, learning-capable software, and Voice Control with natural language recognition. A full-color head-up display and augmented video for navigation are standard.
The GLA will arrive at U.S. dealerships in mid-2020. The 2021 GLA 250 will start at $36,230 and the GLA 250 4MATIC is priced from $38,230. The prices exclude a $1,050 destination and delivery charge.
