The Genesis G70 is getting familiar family styling for 2021.

The 2021 Genesis G70 brings with it a strong sports car identity. With a refresh underway, its identity will look a littler different, but the same athletic performance will remain.

The new exterior design feeds off of the language of the G90 and G80 delivering a signature crest grille up front, which is flanked by new Quad Lamp headlights that are well defined and piercing.

Sides of the four-door G70 include air extractors that are optimized for efficiency. Moving to the back the Quad Lamp taillights show their clear inspiration from the Genesis logo. Below, a full-width G-Matrix mesh and body colored diffusers surround the oval exhaust tips.

Engine options for the G70 remain unchanged. The base model will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder power plant that achieves 252 horsepower while upgraded models get a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 that produces 365 horsepower. Both engines will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission – the manual option has been killed off due to a low take rate.

Rear-wheel drive will remain standard. All-wheel drive will be available.

The interior of the G70 is enhanced as well. Its driver-centric design adds the company’s new 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which is already seen in various applications throughout the Hyundai and Kia lineup. The infotainment system now supports over-the-air updates, Valet mode, and AppleCarPlay.

Genesis has optimized the layout of the wireless charging pad in the center console placing it in a more traditional horizontal orientation to allow for more compatibility with various smartphones sizes.

Specifications for the model will vary by location.

Pricing for the U.S.-bound version of the G70 has not yet been announced and neither has an on-sale date. The car will be arriving in the Korea market next month.

The 2020 Genesis G70 starts around $35,000. A small price increase is likely for the 2021 model.
